Our Story

Executive Chef Matt Strabbing 

Matthew Strabbing employs leadership expertise and more than 12 years of experience in the restaurant industry in his role as executive chef of Ocean Prime, Cameron Mitchell Restaurants’ modern American supper club concept in Troy, Mich. Utilizing a unique blend of culinary proficiency and business insight in the kitchen, Strabbing brings refined excellence to Ocean Prime. 

Strabbing joined the Ocean Prime team in September 2010 following a five-year tenure as executive chef at Mitchell’s Fish Market, a Ruth’s Chris Hospitality Group restaurant located in Livonia, Mich. During this time, Strabbing perfected his skills in all aspects of the kitchen, and under his guidance, Mitchell’s Fish Market received the Restaurant of the Year honor for the company, positioning it as the busiest and most profitable Fish Market in company history. 

Originally from Canton, Mich., and an avid deer hunter, Strabbing graduated in 2004 with a business degree from the University of Detroit. He relocated to Royal Oak, Mich., in 2005 where he currently resides with his wife and three children.
